THE IBERIAN PENINSULA HAS IT ALL!

The Iberian Peninsula is located in southwestern Europe, forming a 1,030-mile long coastline along the Mediterranean Sea to the east, and a 1,027-mile long coastline along the Atlantic  Ocean to the west. The peninsular region is made up of the following countries and areas: Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Gibraltar (an overseas territory of the UK), and a small part of France. The Iberian Peninsula covers a total area of 225,000 square miles, making it the second largest peninsula in Europe. The economy of this peninsular division is diverse, although fishing, mining, and tourism make up a large portion of the overall gross domestic product (GDP). The Iberian Peninsula is home to a number of mountain ranges and major waterways. Some of the mountains found here include: the Cantabrian Mountains, the Sierra Morena, the Pyrenees Mountains, and the Montes de Toledo. The highest peak within the peninsula is Mulhacén Mountain, which has an elevation of 11,411 feet above sea level and belongs to the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The longest river to flow through the Iberian Peninsula is the Tagus, which runs for 626 miles before draining into the Atlantic Ocean in Lisbon – Portugal

Savanna

AFRICA

However, for others, this small Latin American country has a different appeal: it’s a relaxed way of life. Residents – known as Ticos – often recite the catchphrase “pura vida” (or “pure life”). This guiding philosophy can be observed from Costa Rica’s central cosmopolitan capital of San José all the way to the sandy Atlantic and Pacific coasts.

Africa

Africa’s great savannas are a place dominated by sky and rolling grassland. Their wildlife has long been the focus of filmmakers, photographers and writers.

Of Africa’s great plains regions, the Serengeti is the most famous. Straddling Kenya and Tanzania, it is the only part of Africa where vast, annual migrations of animals — wildebeest and zebras — still occur. Early man first appeared in the Serengeti region’s Olduvai Gorge some 2 million years ago.
